SUTHERLAND AUTOMOTIVE BUILDING

New Structure

Completion Date: 2018
Location: Prince Albert, Saskatchewan

Project Overview

Prakash Consulting served as the Prime Consultant for the development of the new Sutherland Automotive facility in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The project involved the design and coordination of a modern automotive warehouse and commercial facility, with a significant engineering scope that included structural design, concrete works, and foundation systems.

The development was carefully planned to support both operational efficiency and future expansion while maintaining compatibility with the existing site and surrounding properties.

Design Approach

The project required the integration of a large pre-engineered steel building system into the overall facility design. Particular attention was given to structural coordination, material specifications, and site constraints to ensure a functional and durable commercial development.

Key aspects of the design included:

  • Coordination and integration of a large pre-engineered warehouse structure into the overall building design.

  • Detailed specification of structural components, construction materials, and design criteria to meet operational and performance requirements.

  • Careful planning and design of the new warehouse adjacent to existing buildings and property lines, requiring a high level of detailing and site coordination.

  • Comprehensive building code analysis, including snow load calculations and fire-resistance considerations for proximity to adjacent properties and structures.

  • Design and detailing of concrete foundations and structural systems to support long-span commercial and warehouse operations.
